Transferece

"...is a kind of relationship illusion. It occurs easily and effortlessly when we first meet someone and try to form an understanding of who they are based on first impressions. It is an unconscious process, in that it occurs without effort, and does not announce itself. You only know it has happened when the person you thought you had a handle on goes and does something completely unexpected." From http://mentalhelp.net/

I came across this interesting excerpt after googling 'Help' and following the first search result. (I didn't hit the I-Feel-Lucky button because I don't feel lucky, and if I did feel lucky karma/the universe/God would help me naturally, so I wouldn't need help!)

I think that this definition of transference is v true! Hence it follows... do we ever really know people? And to delve deeper... do we ever really know ourselves?

HELP!

Someone, anyone. Call the Zen Master!

Help me.

Help yourself.

Heal the planet.

Give me a God damn break!

Counter-transference is basically a therapist’s "emotional time warp" around their patient’s transference. In other words, counter-transference is a therapist’s counter- reaction. That’s why some therapists think they are falling in love with their patients. That’s also why older guys become obsessed with younger female employees they barely know.

You're worrying me!

Hi Coemgen! I worry me all the time! But it is v sweet of you to be worried about me! Transference is all about filling in gaps in others people's personalities so that they match you or your image of them, methinks! Ergo, your perceptions, life experience, inhibitions, phobias and neuroses all affect your interactions (real or not) with others. My head is spinning out of control, with all this thinking. Will take a break, then go shopping!

As long as I know you're keeping your appointments with shopping I'll have my mind at rest:) You just take good care of yourself and don't worry too much. It won't take you anywhere pleasant!
